Recently I've been scraping the hell out of my chin. Winter REALLY took it's toll on it and it looked like BUTT soooo I ripped it off and threw it in the dumpster.

So now my dilemma is do I get another painted mach 1 (~$250) or do I suck it up and do the 03 cobra front bumper?

What have you guys that have done this paid? I'm thinking about $1,000 for everything front prep to paint to accessories. Am I underestimating?

~$350 for bumper
~$200 for paint
~$100 for fogs
~$100 for chin
+ ~$150 for my bad guestimation

= ~$900

03/04 cobra bumper, or 99-01 bumper with mach1 chin spoiler!!! I'll be doing 03/04 cobra bumper with no fogs (brake ducts instead), and maybe chin depending on how it looks without.

I won't be running fogs because of my FMIC routing

After picking up the car today without the chin, I want it back...now. The cobra front is too much $ at this point so I'll be doing a new painted chin.

I feel your pain ambo...but im not sure if your spoiler has been through what mine has

Scraped the heck out of it while backing off some concrete blocks.

Nailed a tire @ 74MPH in the way to MPH...darn near ripped it off and drove a few hundered miles like that with half of it hanging under the car LOL. Taped it in place and drove back home. Popped in some more clips the next day and bingo...a little beatup but no big deal.

Then saturday night after coming back from sanantonio raceway, I jumped down on it to over 100MPH and let off. I looked down at the gauge to see how much vacuum it was reading (for no reason really) ...looked up and hit a larger HEAVY DUTY tarp that was all bundled up DEAD center of the highway @ about 85MPH . I figured if the truck tire didnt take it off, I doubt that did...but we stopped to check anyways. Sure enough, GONE LOL. Went back and collected my spoiler. Then put it back on the next day .

Ripped the center section of the spiler (cant see it as its where the mounting push pins go) and it broke one of my lower grill supports (super glued back togethor )

Ambo:
Why not just get an unpainted chin spoiler until you get the $$$ for the Cobra Bumper? (Can't you get them for like $100.00 online?)

It sounds like that is your long term plan. No use waisting money now.

There's a chin spoiler for the Cobra bumper? I have to see this. I really wanted a chin spoiler for mine, but hate the license plate spot in the middle, and think the Cobra R bumper looks like a plow. The best of both worlds would be awesome.

It is my long term goal but honestly, the black chin on a white car to me = do it right and spend the extra $100

Its really more like a sacrificial piece of black plastic on the bottom edge than it is a "chin spoiler"... It is not really that noticeable... Mine is all chewed up

I have $500 in my bumper's paint. So, you may underestimate. However, mine had a little damage.
