OK I know that radials have all kinds of benefits but my car is driven maybe 1500 miles a year in good weather only and 'I just had to have' Magnum 500's with Polyglas tires. That look is too cool for me.
I will probably be swopping out shocks soon.
Were the shocks designed differently for the Bias ply tires of the day or would the newer shocks work as well or better with Goodyear Polyglas tires?
Should I go with a performance gas shock, stiffer, or standard with the Bias Plys?
Thanks for any help.

I thought there were others using the Polyglas tires for vintage look and their classic mustang and may have come across this question about valving in their shocks.
Anybody know who I should check with?

I would never give up my radials, but my guess is that a standard heavy duty or gas shock would work fine. I don't believe that there is that much difference between them and the OEM stuff. I had gas shocks on my car way back in the 1970s when I think I was still using the old bias ply. Shocks are just designed to dampen springs, nothing more.

Thanks for the response. I know, I had a nice set of radials on my other 66'

Great ride, but with this car (in my Avatar) I really want that 60's Hot Rod look. Carroll Shelby used Goodyear E70 14's and F70 14's on some of the early Mustangs and It has a look. Granted not the ride of the Radials but I wanted a true 60's look and feel with this project.
It's all Fun......

As far as shocks, I may go with the KONI's .. not sure still want to look into my options. Bilstein maybe...
