Finally! I got the 4.10s in the car. It feels good, but of course I can't get on it yet because of the break in period. I'm really eager to try out a WOT charge!

I have an auto and a diablosport tuner. I tuned the car's axle to the 4.09 setting, but I am almost positive the speedometer is still off. Why would it still be off? I thought the 2003 cars would tune the speedo with a diablosport.

Thanks for the help!

get on it what are you waiting for? if they were installed right, there is no break in period. Can't help you on the speedo problem though, but if you have a predator, that should be all you need.

if you flashed the computer for 4.09 then your speedo should be right on.

Gears DO have a break in period of about 300-500 miles. You should drive them a good distance and then let them cool off then you can really start to get on them.

you have to install the performance tune for any changes to take effect

Well, I definitely flashed the car at 4.09. It does not feel right at all though as far as speed and the car. I could just be so used to the old RPMs and the speed matchup that it's just difficult to get used to, but I am doubting it.

I used the Factory HP tune instead of the Diablo tune to do it. Maybe I should try the Diablo tune instead. The reason I didn't want to do that though is because I drive a lot and don't want to have to put 93 gas in with the price it is. I put the mid grade in right now because my car will pre-ping at WOT on the 1-2 shift with anything less stock. It didn't do that until about 17,000 miles.

If worst comes to worst, I'll either drive behind someone that I know is going 55 and see where it matches up, or I'll get lucky and see one of those "Your Speed" police radar guns around somewhere I can match it up to.

Anyone else got any help for me? Can you think of anything I'm missing?

Use Diablo tune? How much should I retard the settings for 89 octane?

Why the heck does it even have the option of doing the Factory HP tune then? Other stuff takes effect if I use that tune. I will try what you are saying though and see what it does.

Before I do that though, I'll need to know how much to retard my air/fuel and spark advance so that I can run on 89 octane. Anyone know how much I should back that down for that?

Thanks!

EDIT: I think I misunderstood what you were saying. I have to install the performance tune to even get to the Factory HP and Diablo tune screens. At least that is how my revision of the predator is setup.

Used this Link... found some other good ones in the process!

coramprat sent me this link (thanks man!) and I put in these values. I'm not sure if they are correct though, so correct me if I'm wrong!

Target Engine RPM: 2000
Ring Gear and Pinion Ratio: 4.09 (this is the way it read in the diablo)
Transmission Final Gear Ratio: 0.67 (I'm not sure about this one)
Tire Diameter: 25.6 (I'm not sure about this one either)

I got this information from here:
http://www.hardcore50.com/technical_articles/GearRatios.htm

...and here:
http://www.allfordmustangs.com/Detailed/637.shtml

What do you think? That information was pretty accurate from what I can remember. Maybe I AM just off in my head.

I'll post again in the morning and see if that was at least anywhere close. Right now it's too late for me to remember. Goodnight! Thanks for all your help.

There is a problem with the Predator. It won't let you change the rear gear with the factory tune. Diablo knows about this and has said they will fix it in their next revision.

Well, that sure explains it. I don't have a way to update my revision either when they get a new one out. I don't have the hardware. I guess I'll have to go spend another $40 (I'm guessing) on that now.

Thanks for finding that! That's good to know.

So since I have to use the Diablo tune now, does anyone know what I should do to lower my timings and stuff to so that I can use 89 octane gas? Thanks!
