I bought an alternator upgrade kit from lmr recently. On the last step on the install, connecting the power wire to the back of the alternator I tightened the bolt too tight and it snapped the thread off the back of the alternator (I know, I shouldn't have tightened it that much)
I bought a zinc coupling nut to extend the thread in the back of the alternator so I can attach the wires again. My question is will adding this extra piece to the alternator where the wires connect have any effect on the power output?

Do NOT reattach the stock power wires. ONLY attach the 4 gauge new power wire. Cap andtape off the existing two smaller power wires.

I don't think I attached to stock power wire anyway. I only had the new 4 gauge power wire connection and the 2 other connectors. One for the stator and one for the regulator

I just finished running the wire for the new 4 gauge power wire. In the video on lmr he connects one end to the starter solenoid. In the video I don't see the positive cable for the battery like on my mustang. Does this look correct?

Yes. All power connections on one side and the opposite side sees the single wire to yhevstarter

Thanks for your help. So my wiring is all done than. Now I'm on the last step getting the belt back on and it doesn't seem to be able to go on. In the video the guy just slides it on with ease. I have a breaker bar holding the tensioner up all the way and the belt is on all the pulleys correctly but it still won't slide over the alternator. Do I possibly need a bigger belt or can I adjust the tension height?

If all you did was replace the alternator there should be no problem with the belt fitting. Recheck your routing. Post a picrure if you can.

I bought the upgrade 130amp 3g alternator from lmr and I just checked the pulley is bigger. How do I know which size belt to get?

I have the bigger 130 amp 3g and didn't need a new belt. Can you post a picture of your routing?

Okay I'll post a picture later tonight when I get home. I don't know if the person before me bought a smaller belt because he did buy an aftermarket alternator, I think it's a 75 amp small one.

I think @jrichker posted an array of belt routing options,
That pic looks like the tensioner is not used unless I just don't see it.

That does not appear to be a stock tensioner for a foxbody. Is that a replacement? It doesn't look right to me.
