i was bored today so i went to the "stock parts cabinet" in the garage and pulled out the old stock upper...i just cleaned it with some soap and water and sprayed it so it is so-so quality....i want to sand it down smooth and paint it again...

...im torn between polishing it and sanding it smooth and painting again....if i do decide to sand it smooth what sand paper should i use??
here it is....

Why go through all that trouble? What are your plans with it?

I just used the 24 hour Round Up in my courtyard. It was like $18 so it better work in that time period.

If you get real bored, you could always polish it up real pretty and sell it on Ebay. That's something I plan to do when I get the motivation. Rub it down starting with 400 grit, 800, and then wet sand it with 1000. After that, break out the dremel and rubbing compound and you'll have an intake RC would be proud to have.

caveat - I'm by no means one of the polishing gurus in the 94-95 room. That's just what I'd do based off of my personal experiences in mechanics/motorsports.

I just use the generic version...I just concentrate it slightly more than the directions, then it works as good as round up.

For the shoes..I just use some soap and water.!!

Anthony, even if you dont polish the intake itself, you should at least polish the top of that plate, since it so simple, then paint the inside.
