I've been looking for decent work ever since I graduated in May. I used to work in service and things haven't been to sharp in my field since Micron, you know, the company with one product that has no margins, ...yup, DRAM, layoffs.

I wore office clothes to work today, you know, slacks, shoes, etc. Didn't bother changing.

A friend of mine mentioned that a local shop needed a salesman. So, I applied. Funny, I haven't filled out an actual application in 3 years.

Anyway, I filled it out. Found out later, one of the salesman, called me a douchebag.

Nice, I guess you can never go back.

Anyway, if you have something nasty to say, please save it. Things have been bad enough.

Just thought I'd post this, ... doesn't bother me too much. I just wanted to get it out.

Thanks

I work in "Field Support" in the "Internet/Broadband" business. When I show up in my "office garb"; jeans (usually Wranglers) boots, palm-leaf straw western hat; company button-down or polo; I often see the look of surprise and wariness on the customer's faces - and I love it. Often I "crank up the hayseed" and exaggerate my ineptitude with a keyboard while I'm working on their problem; just to see the looks of surprise on their faces when I walk away from their now-working Web and network.

But, I've never been called a "douchebag" by a client.

I've "done" Tech Support in several disciplines, usually dealing with electronics; and I've come to one immutable conclusion:
With rare exceptions amongst those I've personally met: Salesman=Douchebag.

They probably think the same about guys like you and me; so I can almost see where he's coming from.

Maybe so.. Nonetheless, I've learned to judge people by thier credentials and what they say, not what they wear.

Except maybe a clown suit.

You just got called a douchebag once? Wow, I must be doing something wrong, or right depending on how you look at it. I've been called a douche bag, @$$hole, sumbitch, dirty bastard, D!ckweed, and worse. That's just from the marketing weasels and the sales chowderheads. All because I contradicted what they had told their customers.

If the sales chowderheads called you a name, must mean that they are just a bunch of jack holes. Most of them are the reasons for the acronyms that we have anyway.

PEBKAC
ID-10T Errors
I/O Errors (Idiot Operators)

Etc..etc,etc...

I have met some that are cool and I'll do what ever I can to help them, but they're few and far between in my experience, I like to judge people by their actions, not their looks too.

Sounds like you wouldn't last 15 minutes with my GF, lmao
Actually she's kinda cute when she goes into a tirade on me calling me every name in the book

Just consider the source in your situation, guy was probably jealous, that's what usually elicits that kind of statement.
