Got issues!!

Aight, i got one cylinder that fouls out a plug about every week. Its annoying it has ash depostis all over it. anyone have any ideas??

Injector maybe try swiching injectors and see if that one stops fouling out. And the other one starts to foul maybe a long shot but its free to try

95YellowGTbeasT, I am not a memeber so I can't view that link. I would do as wytstang has suggested then check the plugwire to make sure its not arcing. Next try a compression check and cylinder leakdown test to check for a bent valve, burnt/worn ring, or maybe even a broke valvespring. I suppose there could be several different things wrong but try checking the free or cheap items first.

How long has this been going on? did you change something and then this problem started showing up? I am no pro at reading a plug so I am not sure exactly why ash deposits who up.

its been like this since my h/c/i install oil also is being sucked up to the inake and i think its leaking down in that one cylinder from the intake.

Check the distrubuter cap and look at the post maybe they just need to be cleaned a little i'm just shooting in the dark here so try it it can't hurt none. hope you find the problem good luck. (ash on the plug weird and just on one)

check the pcv valve some people have that problem with oil be sucked through there.

Do you have pedestal mount rockers? If so, you may need to add a shim/s to allow the valve to close all the way. I had a similar problem and when a valve doesn't shut all the way it will end up fowling a or some plug/s out. A motor needs to make compression to fire properly and when a valve doesn't shut it can cause this.

I am not saying that is your problem but it can't hurt to check it.

there the stock rocker arms and yes oil is coming up through the pcv valve to the upper intake.

i have several plugs with ash deposits on them and my car has been running like crap! also burning oil like crazy! a local shop told me ash deposits are from burnt oil, usually caused by bad valve guides. im 80% sure my problems are somewhere in the valvetrain, but this is just what somebody told me, because beleive me, i am not a mechanic. but who knows? hope this helps

Do a compression test. That will tell you if it's a valvetrain or shortblock (piston rings) related. If the compression test is 100% OK, then you might have a problem with the spark plug/wire/cap/rotor side.

But that looks like oil to me. If that is oil, then my guess is one of your intake or exhaust valve guides or piston rings are leaking oil. They are the only components that could cause an oil leak into the cc's.

Hook up a vacuum gauge to one of the vacuum lines. See if it remains steady and within spec. If it jumps around, post back and we can go from there.
