So guys, I had a day off and got kinda bored....and since it was raining I couldn't go out and get the stang tuned, so....I installed some switches.

I had an extra panel laying around and the only place that it looked like it'd really fit was inside the console thingy so.....whatcha think? The switches are for the interior lighting mainly.

oh yeah, you kinda lose the drink holder too....I never used it nehow

Thanks man

I was thinking about putting some switches in the ashtray spot...but got a second thought.

I'm going to get a sheet of plexiglass and cut it to fit over where the ashtray is supposed to go. Then I'm going to engrave "COBRA" onto it from the back side (that way the top is nice and smooth). I'll have a 4" blue neon light under it so the "COBRA" has a nice light up effect coming from it.

I remember us chatting about this a couple weeks back. You did a nice job with placement and aesthetics.
The aircraft-ish switches are a good idea in case something in there sloshes around and tries to flip a switch.

Why does it look like your bedding is inside the car? J/K mang.

Good job.

yup hissin, I'm finally getting around to doing the interior somewhat. It seems like everyday I have off it wants to rain on me...no good at all; so I figured I'd just do this and wait for it to cool off outside...then hit the fuel pump stuff. And thats exactly the reason I decided to use the aircraft type switch...just so something doesn't bump around and start knocking switches around...And that bedding, that's my attempt at adding a more comfortable seat. Those pillows are the butt cushions

The switches are a tad on the big side, but I kinda like them.

Thanks for the replies guys

Oh yeah, I mentioned the plexiglass thing I was doing....Here are some pics...definately not final. The blue goes along with the lighting scheme I have in the interior (amps, soon to be gauges, security system LED, misc. lights like my cell phone charger lol)

Don't laugh, my engraving/cutting skills need some work. It was hard enough spelling "COBRA" out backwards (so the top part is smooth).

Just call this the prototype if you will

btw, I was thinking about getting a reversed printout of the running pony or a cobra instead of having the words.

Any suggestions?

To get a more professional look; print the word/picture on a computer and cut it out to make a stencil. Trace it on the Plexiglas with a sharpie or dry erase board marker and remove those areas with the grinder. It's cheap and easy

i like the switches but not so sure about the plexiglass. I love the idea of it, but the realization of it seems to not work. if you cut out enough to leave nice good thick edges on the inside, then mount the light parrallel with the plexiglass it would only illuminate the cobra and not the whole tray area.

uh oh, the mice is on the wheel....if you have enough room to put in the light as stated above, then get a piece of plexiglass and paint it black and put that under it so you wouldn't see the stuff underneath.

basically all you would see then is the cobra lettering in blue....in theory...

prokiller, I'm actually doing that right now (painting underside black and stenciling out cobra).

Like I said, I'm just messing around with it right now. Thanks for the input as well.
