got my first ding today :(

Finally...

Good god...after 2 weeks, I finally got my baby back. My car has been in the body shop getting all sorts of new parts and paint. The hood was total damage, had to be replaced. Both front driver and passenger quarter panels had to be replaced. The passenger rear quarter panel also had to be replaced. The PDR guy did a beautiful job removing the surface of the moon from the rest of the car. Looks brand new...excellent paint job!!! I can't describe what a great job they did. The only other thing I can say is get good auto insurance...The $6000 worth of damage only costed me $250 from my claim. Damn you Mother Nature for your freakish hail storm! If you have body damage in Jacksonville, FL...I've got just the right guys for you!:nice:

UrbanRedneck, Did you ever get your door ding repaired? I just got a ding in the exact same place right on the crease of the door. I just wonder if PDR could do more harm than good since the ding is right on the crease.

No not yet. I haven't had the money to do it, and have sort of forgotten about it so it doesn't bother me much. I decided that I'll get it fixed when it starts to really bother me.

I know how you feel, it would drive me nuts as well. Check around for a good 'paintless dent repair' guy (one with good references) and get it fixed. These guys can make that dent disappear and for not a lot of money :nice: If you bought your car new from a dealer, call them and ask who they use. All dealerships use paintless dent repair guys, much cheaper, faster and usually a better job than body work and paint.

I second this idea! My '06 Vista Blue convert had a wheel well dent (right smack dab on the crease) when I bought it (used), but I took it to a paintless dent repair place here a while back and the wheel well where the VERY noticeable ding was is now PRISTINE...so I say go for it: you won't regret it...:D

"Hispanic" here, and got a mustang too...go figure.

Anyway, totally bummed cuz I saw my first real ding. The worst part is I don't know if I did it or someone else. I routinely hit the garbage can (it's plastic) while I park in the garage, but once last week, I think I thought it was further away and nocked it a few inches.

However, i did see what appears to be a circle next to a vertical ding that would lead me to believe it was another car's license plate.

Anyway, I drive my car not everyday, but when I don't carpool with my wife "yep, mexican" I drive the stang. I don't baby it, but I take care of it. It racks up the miles, but I have fun with it. My buddy has a Mach1 and doesn't drive it except for weekend fun. I hope to someday have that luxury, but it will be after the warranty is up and a little while down the line.

Imma have to look into a new bumper cover, they are reasonably priced from TakeOffs.
