Ok...

I got four Mach 1000 amps from the wrecker...with the wiring harness....no subs no amp rack. I was hoping that I would just be able to plug them into the Mach 460 and pick up a nice pair of dual voice coil subs and throw it all in. Not quite....

We all know that you can buy the Mach 1000 system as an aftermarket option. The problem I am having is with the harness....I can't figure out where to plug it into. I pulled out the rear seat and looked everywhere for a connection point with no luck. One site says that I am supposed to hook the harness up to the drivers side amp and then run a power cable to the battery....not gonna happen with my harness.

I guess what I would like to know from someone out there if the aftermarket add-on version of the Mach 1000 has a different harness then the factory installed version and if it is possible to get a hold of this somehow...cheap.

If it is the same harness, could someone please tell me how to connect this thing!!!

If nothing else, can someone tell me an easy way to add an amp and sub to my 02 mustang without taking out the mach 460. I know that it is not as easy to do this in 01 and up as it was for 00 an earlier. I already checked out the "data cable" method at http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/despeeds1.htm but that does not seem to apply to 01 and newer.

I am having a bad day...I used to have a 94 GT with the Mach 460 and always raved about the sound quality. When I bought my 02 GT I thought I would feel the same way...the problem is that for the past year I have been driving around in an 02 Envoy with a Bose system that makes the 460 sound like a guy singing into a tin can....My wife an new baby are driving around in my Envoy and I am going through "good sounding car audio" withdrawal...Grrrr

Thanks

Get a new (good) headunit, it will make the Mach 460 sound a lot better.

Poopie did you ever figure it out? I am having the same problem figuring out how to plug in the system to the exsisting mach 460 harness.
