Received my Steeda cat-back (made by Borla) yesterday from Steeda.ca (great guys by the way). Fedex dropped the box off at about 6pm and I was gonna wait until the weekend but my new fluorescent lights I installed in my garage were begging me to put it in that night!

Installation: I am not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination yet the install still went pretty smoothly. I jacked the rear of the car onto to ramps and also had some jack stands by the axle and some wheel stops in front of the front wheels just in case. I would strongly recommend buying a creeper if you do not have one already...it came in very handy. Removing the old mufflers was a bit tough...I used a rip saw and a hack saw to cut the pipe. That was probably the most difficult part. The new system went on pretty easily. One word of advice, TIGHTEN THE CLAMP BLOTS AS TIGHT AS YOU CAN! I was a bit nervous about putting the clamps on too tight. I realized that was bad idea when I got to the end of my street and one of my pipes fell off! (not the chrome part thank God)!

Sound: Exactly what I wanted...not too loud when driving under normal conditions...nice deep and throaty sound when you hammer it down. I had some type of glasspacks on my old 02 which were stupid loud all the time. The Steeda's sound very rich.

Looks: Nicely polished tips...printed "Steeda" and logo on the top of the tip. The tips are wider than stock by about 1/2 an inch...not too big, but enough that people know that your car is not an "off the lot" Mustang!

Power increase: I can feel a slight increase in throttle response. I am running a K&N Fipk, a custom tuned SCT program and 94 octane gas. I am very pleased overall with the setup as the car is running smooth and fast!

I am very happy with the purchase and the install process.

Out of all the mods I did, the SCT was the most noticable. The car just runs so much smoother and you will find power at different rpm levels that you did not have before. I noticed a big difference in thrid gear especially.

You can pick one up at Steeda.ca (I am pretty sure they ship to the U.S.)

http://www.steeda.ca/catalogue_product.asp?id=2117

I would call them to order. The guys there really know there stuff.

They can also sell you a cable that allows them to email you different tunes as you mod your ride. There is also a home based tuning program that will allow you to make your own tunes as well, but I do not know much about it.

Glad you liked the sound of the Steeda catback.
I am leaning toward the Steeda catback system as well
as one of their X pipes also.

How is the tone and loudness at highway speeds ?

Thanks,

Scott

were you able to do the install while leaving the rear tires on the ramps? I hope to install a cat-back soon and was wondering if I have to put the back end up on jacks or if I can leave it up on ramps?

Yup...I left the car on the ramps and there was plenty of room to get the old setup off and the new setup over the axle....I was worried about the same thing becuase I read somewhere that it might be a problem but it wasn't even close to true in my case!
