As soon as I'm done eating lunch I'm gonna hook it up and see if I can't get the stang running. Here's what I'm gonna start out doing:

Idle speed: 900
Maximum idle speed: 1050
Fan temps
EGR off
Smog off
Injector slopes (30 high/36.5 low)
MAF transfer
Reset checksum

I figure this will give me a good starting point. I'm gonna use the T4M0 (GT) file to start with. The fuel tables are a little bit leaner with the GT as opposed to the Cobra, so hopefully that will be more beneficial for me. Any suggestions?

Not bad, your only running a TFS 1 you could set the idle to like 800 or so that what i run mine.

Cool, I'll probably set it to 800 later after I get some other things worked out. I'd rather not fight an unsteady idle while I'm working on other things.

Hey, how exactly do I fix the idle surge problem? Is it just caused by running rich at idle? If so, can I either adjust the idle fuel tables, or lean out the MAF transfer at idle?

Chris just remember change only a few things at a time and then save it. so you can back track if something does not work right and you know where it is.

Very good advice indeed!

A couple of of more tips for you.

Don't start out changing things with a willy nilly attitude or no rhyme or reason method.

Keep some kind of record of changes and the file name that goes with those changes. The records you keep will help you and others you will want to help as your knowledge grows.

On a regular basis, save your latest file to a floppy. You can most likely figure out the reason for developing that habit.

Have fun and always remember ... BIG FUEL & little spark
