ive started in 2nd or 3rd and gotten going w/o using the gas . it takes a lot of practice, but since i have 4.10s,it makes it very easy. i dont know if i could do this this stock 3.27 gearing, but my 4.10s are just fun. i actually learned to drive a standard this way. my dad told me to get the car going w/o any gas. it teaches good clutch control. just IMO

yes it does make it easy to learn a stickshift when you are taight that way
 
I have to agree with Jackie here - This tech thread is a little embarressing =D


Its no challenge at all to get the car rolling in 4th gear (on level ground), or possibly even 5th. I know I've messed around and done 4th before with no problems. Its just patience, because it takes time for the power of the idle to push the car up to adequate speed for the clutch to fully engage.

Now quickly, someone start talking about burnouts before Stangnet falls apart.
