I bought this item:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...go=DR&its=S%2BI%2BSS&itu=ISS%2BUCI%2BSI&otn=4

It is a POS!! the reception is barely better than my broken antenna, even though it claims to be BETTER than a stock antenna. After taking everything apart to route the wires, I turned the radio on and at how lousy it was.

I asked the seller if there could be something wrong with it...they replied:

"we do not sell defective products...maybe you should have a pro install it"

I reported them to ebay, and I got an email back from the seller saying that he is the owner, and he apologizes and fired that guy (like I REALLY believe that )

He offered an exchange..I said "too late, I already special ordered a new antenna from Ford...I want a full refund including shipping" (WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR THEM TO SEND ME A POS?) They said they would send refund MINUS shipping. .I said no FULL AMT, or negative feedback and post in my forums how lousy they are.

Here is the exact reply:

THAN DO WHAT EVER YOU LIKE.........BUY ELSEWHERE.........WE DO NOT NEED OR WANT YOUR BUSINESS.......WE HAVE BLOCKED YOU FROM BUYING FROM US AGAIN........OR LET SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO INSTALL DO IT FOR YOU.........GOOD BY He spelled good bye B-Y

ANyway, What I would like is for volunteers to look at the item, select it as a watch item and ask seller a question, something like:

I hear that this antenna is no better than a broken stock antenna...is that true?

Dont mention who you are, where you are from or refer them back here to stangnet. Just want to mess with the guy a little. Im leaving NEG feedback now!

Thanks
RC

Your best bet is probably to dispute it through PayPal and hope you get your money back. If you paid with a credit card, or have your checking account attached to the PayPal account, you can use the bank/credit card company to dispute the charges, too.

Since you basically stripped your car and REBUILT it you obviously do not have the ability to install a wireless antenna...its things like this why I HATE ebay.

Good luck, like said above dispute this nonsense.

Im not going to dispute it. Ill just sell it on Ebay for $1, and put WHERE it came from and how lousy it is.

"why spend $23 on this POS when you can buy the same POS from me here for a starting bid of ONLY $1?

They offered me a refund of ONLY the product LESS my shipping to me AND Back to them. I told them they had to pay for one of the shipping and that's when the guy flipped. Why I should I pay to have a POS sent to me?

i realize its principal at this point RC, but your best bet is to just get your money back by going through paypal and disputing the product. Is your $23 worth of anger really worth the time involved dragging this out?

Actually Aside from THIS thread Im done with dragging it out. Im resolved to losing the $30. I will relist it for $10 when I remove it from Ebay. I already left the negative feedback so There is no chance of a refund.

Just picked up the new Stock antenna base from FORD. My base is shot because the antenna stud is stock in it. I will just put the new base on, paint the little cover and put it on, then order a nice new 14" short black antenna from American Muscle.

Thanks

Not trying to be a dick or anything but the auction never stated that it did better than a factory antenna. Just stated performance equal to a factory 31" antenna. The auction also states no returns, all sales final, no exceptions. So, by the seller stating this, it saves his ass from being liable for anything. I would hav taken the refund and and called it a day cause by the auction terms the selling really didn't have to do anything at all. (trust me, I've been through this crap with ebay before) never the less, if a customer is not happy, the seller should do what it take it make it right. Thats my ways of doing business and it always works out for the good.

Ive disowned Ebay as far as buying parts from there anymore. To much of a hassle, to long of ship times to much of this crap. From now on I just buy items from the mfg or a reputable site. Ebay USED to be a good place to buy cheaper parts, now its just a joke where all you get is cheap parts quality wise and an attitude to go along w/ it.

You should probably delete that word for family viewing sake.

Anyway...yeah if you read the auction it states that, but 2 things:

1. I sent them a question about the item...this was their reply:

OUR POWER ANTENNA WILL WORK 100% BETTER THAN THE ONE ON THE FENDER
That is where I got that from.

2. When you sell an item, and you check off "NO RETURNS ACCEPTED" a clause pops up and states that terms are based on the item being as described. We could argue that it doesnt say "better" in the listing, but Im telling you I dont even get in radio stations I get with stock antenna, so it isnt even EQUAL to stock. That is false adv and against ebay policy.

Hey Laser I think you just got a bad unit. I have one of those antenna's on my Typhoon and it works great-It picks up AM much better than stock. I bought it from crutcfield for like $20 bucks. It still sucks that you got screwed by that person on Ebay.

negative feedback on ebay is your friend. Just bash the guy. It will knock his 99.2% positive rating down a little.

That's what I said at first. If the "first" guy (who I still think was the owner) offered an exchange, I would have done it. But when they were rude, I had to order another one. So when the so called owner wrote back and he said he would exchange it, it was too late...I already ordered the stock antenna base replacement. DO you have a link to the crutchfield one?

yep thats the typical ebay response. if it doesnt fit, doesnt work, wrong size, breaks, wrong color etc. they say "get professional install" thats why i dont purchase from 'businesses' on EBAY. 90% of ebay stores sell knockoff chinese car parts.
if your not buying a quality used part from a private seller, u get what u pay for.

I've only been screwed on ebay once at it was not only a private individual it was a military man to boot. Bought some slightly used nitto d/r. Had pictures with a penny in the tread and all. I'm guessing he was ticked off for how cheap they went. When they made it to me, they weren't worth the money to have them mounted. Basically nothing left.... and one had a screw in it. He basically disappeared, no responses.

I did eventually find someone that wanted them for one trip to the track. He mounted them, ran at the track, then sold the car. LOL

BUT when i buy stuff it always comes in pieces I guess people just don't care as long as get rid of it and take your money...

I No longer buy from ebay and never will
