yup my bbk's did the same and warped, when I took them off I had hell with the pass side. Good to see you got it up and running, but I was wondering when you took the rack off of the trunk did it mess up the paint or was it already primered?

its a whole new decked lid.. i got a rust free one for 30 bucks and figured it would save me a lot of time with the original one.

I bought my Stang with MAC headers 5 years ago, and I have never dealt with an exhaust leak.
Either I am extremely lucky, or MAC headers aren't as bad as people are saying...

not true! problem is these headers of mine were bought in 2002 used for 10k miles spaned out over 4 years and then put in the garage till i bought them.

And??? You yourself stated they were "off" a little when trying to line them up with the exhaust ports and requried some "prying" to fit them in place. What do you think it was that moved them out of shape in the first place? It was heat my friend......them sitting for 4-years doesn't change the fact that they were still heat cycled several times within the 10k period of useage before that.

Time will tell, but my guess is that unless you were really meticulous about the gaskets you used and the prep you did before fitting, you're going to get leaks later on down the road.

i think ill be fine, i took a wire wheel to the header flanges and the same to the heads before i put the gaskets on.
