Got the new springs--what else?

It'll help to know how much drop you're going to get. If you can find any numbers on the coils, Google them. And/or take pics and post them.

Knowing that will help with knowing if CC plates, bumpsteer kits, etc are needed.

I personally think that new dampers are pretty important and almost requisite if yours are OEM.

Consider that you might need new spring isolators. The poly versions do tend to raise the ride height a smidge over flattened out stock ones. This can suck if the springs dont drop the car much, or can help if the springs have a huge drop and you dont want to go quite that low.

You got it with the dampers. Seems to me that folks doing a true 2" drop often use aero fox struts to further help the damper be aggressive enough. Double check on that though.

I wouldn't sweat it that the springs are for 79-04. Most of them are, although you'll probably get different amounts of drop depending on the body style. As far as CC plates, I just went ahead and bought them from the get go, but try without them and see if you can get the alignment right. If not, then go ahead and "spring" for a set...pun intended.....

You will 'for sure' need new struts and shocks. The factory struts will bottom out. It will be driveable, but when you hit a speedbump/pothole/dip it will bottom out and it is not comfortable, gives you that cringe like somebody just rear ended your car and you cant see the damage yet. As for C/C plates, you may be able to get away without them if the new struts you buy have an adjustable cam guide, on the strut mount, one hole should be oblong so you can use an alignment cam that you can purchase at any parts store for about $30.00 a set Specialty Products part # 82120 see this link:

there are also a couple other numbers SPC makes that will work(like 81280), these parts will adjust camber only, but hey, who needs to adjust caster. Caster wont wear your tires out like camber or toe will anyways. I wouldnt do a bumpsteer kit until your all done and you know if you need one, I dont have a kit, and I also dont have bumpsteer. Bumpsteer can vary quite a bit, but even if you got a little, who cares. What you dont want is constant steering wheel oscillation at a certain speed, that can drive you crazy, but is usually a balance or tire issue, and the bumpsteer kit masks the problem for you like a band aid. Coincidentally caster may cause a steering wheel oscillation, in which case you would need plates anyways, check out Mac plates, they were pretty cheap, I think about 120 or so. As for struts, my company only carries Edelbrock so that is what I bought, but they are expensive, You probly want to do some shopping for struts, maybe c-list or ebay see if you can find a slamming deal like you got on those springs.
