I took my 06 GT to the dealer today to get a few things checked out:

1. rearend moan & groan at low speeds under cornering (sounds just like the 2005 GT TSB)
2. seatbelt retention loop not attached to seat cover
3. rubbing sound coming from shifter boot

I've had the JLT cai & SCT on my car; I removed the cai & reflashed the ecu to stock Tuesday night. They didn't say a word about my access to the ecu. After reading some of the threads here, I didn't expect them to. But at least now I can say first hand that they didn't say a word about it.

Here's info about the fixes for my warranty issues...

1. they ordered some new clutches for my rearend. Seems like I have the exact same problem that the 05's did that needed the TSB fix.

2. the seatbelt loop evidently just slipped through production w/o getting sewed to the seat; there were just no threads on it. I caught it about 2 days after I picked up the car, but I just figured I'd wait till I had some more issues and get it all done at the same time. They ordered a new seat cover.

3. I got tired of hearing that rubbing/squeaking sound coming from the shifter area. I suspected it was just the rubber inner shifter boot, and that's what it was. They ordered a new one.

Everything will be fixed on Monday.

so did they just diagnose the trouble now and reschedule for repairs, or are they keeping the car until monday. i had a dealer try to keep my car for a month during the fuel tank replacement. i told them to put it back together the way it was, i was not going to wait a month!

unless you have engine problems they will not bother you about the tuner and CAI

I've already got the car back. I will be taking it back to them on Monday.

I was just kind of afraid that they would look for some evidence that I may have been rough on the car, in looking for a reason for my rearend noise. I'm going to put the cai & tune back on today and not worry about it.

I would'nt worry about it bro.My 2001 was very modified and when I traded it in and they did a saftey inspection they said it was the cleanest 01 they have seen.33k and still had origanal tires with tread to go for another 5k or more.Just because you like to drive fast does'nt mean you abuse the car.Oh and the car sold 3 days later to a very happy young couple.

Big Cat,if your dealer wants to keep the car for a month to replace the gas tank.Find another dealership thats BS.Our dealer would have it 3 days tops most likely next day service.

Thats good to hear. If you have any other problems dont be afraid to take it to a Lincoln/Mercury dealer they can do the same stuff as ford and they just seem to care about customers a bit more.

just an update...

I took the car in on 3/14 with the pulleys, tune, and CAI ON THE CAR. I felt at ease about leaving my mods on the car so I took it in as-is.

They performed the work that I mentioned above.

1. They fixed the shifter squeak by putting on a new shifter boot. Quiet as a church mouse now.

2. They put a new seat cover on my passenger seat, but I'm taking it back in because this one looks like ****. They didn't get it to form to the seat just right.

3. They fixed my rearend by putting in the new differential clutches. Quiet as a churchmouse as well.

They said NOTHING about the tune & CAI. Rest at ease fellas.
I'm sure some dealers are bigger *******s than others, but this is NOT an AUTOMATIC VOID.
