You guys talk about ford truck, turbo coupe's and later model mustang's for 5 lug conversion and 3.73's. Well my dad has a 89 Grand Marquis 5L with 5 lug disc. in the front and 5 lug drum out back. I was wondering if this stuff will work on my 88 GT 5speed. And if you can tell me what gears are in it and can I use the Rearend to make a gear swap, rebuild and 5lug conversion easier.

Here's some #'s for info

Made - 1/89
Rearend #'s - vo14d or it could be v014d
Other #'s on Readend - 08889a16
VIN - 2mebm75f1kx669805

If ya need more info Plz ask. THX for the help in advanced.

i don't think it can. only swaps i now are the sn95 swap, and the budget aerostar/ranger/broncoII swap.

The spindles on the Crown Vic/Grand Marquis are totally different and not interchangeable. The rear axle is way too wide for the Fox body and the axle shafts, as a result, are too wide to be swaped into the Mustang housing.

There are only 2 choices the Ranger axle/Lincoln Rotor swap or the SN95 swap. That or aftermarket and that's BIG money.

If you search 5 lug swap you'll see that both the Ranger/Lincoln and SN95 swaps have been fully talked about.

Do you think the gears are higher and worth using. So this car is useless to a swapper like me?.

Gears suck in them; likely 3.08's or something similar.
