Who F'n cares what this guy says, the fact is with 800-100 in bolt ons you can easily cut .5+ from your et(about 4-5 car lengths in the 1/4). He states what mods he used and some ets, NO mph, NO altitude correction, and NO 60's. What I'm saying is he didn't pick up 2secs with only the addition of nitrous. When you come to a TECH forum and post this back your statements up fully not half assed like this

Maybe this will help:
Dynomight performance in Sherman Texas swapped out the gears and put the stock gears back in the car. Then we put the NX kit in the car with a 125 shot.

The car made 216hp stock on a mustang Dyno.
With a 125 shot the car made 343rwhp and 448rwtq. (WOW 448rwtq) and still ran a little rich.

My 60' went from 2.23 with old mods to 1.74 with the NX kit.

The trick with an automatic is getting low 60' times. Simply throwing gearsand minor bolt ons dosent help; you need big HP.

All I know is my car runs strong. I was getting stomped with bolt ons.

As for driving skills: when your making 216rwhp in an automatic with slicks:there is not a whole lot to do; its not like your going to spin (unless you rev the car up to 6000 rpm and dump it into 1st). You hold the brake and rev it to the limiter, which is around 1800rpms and stomp on the last yellow. At the trap you look for the same time you always run.

My last outing I ran a 7.87 in the 1/8 with slicks(150 shot) at Denton Dragway.

That the way it is with my car.

150 shot on a stock bottom end?!! haha wow i hope you have some money saved up, cus your on track to grenade your engine...
why not just forge it, and spray a 200 shot..
Mike
p.s i hope you dont blow the engine, but your spraying too much for a stock bottom end.

a 2.23 is almost friggin impossible on slicks if you have any experience driving, & with gears on top of that you'd just about have to stall it launching to get that time, & even then it would likely be better

so you are staying you stalled up your stock converter? well thats not how its done. Ever heard of flashing the converter?

as far as blowing his motor...he is safe, it sounds like he has his jetting correct, keeping it a little rich on the spray. I know plenty of stock bottom end guys running 400rwhp on p/a's.

as far as your 7.8 on a 150 kit, im not all that impressed since im only .4 behind that on motor and thats with only et streets, gears, xpipe, chip and pullies

Edit: where are these low 12 sec slips btw???????

So your saying his 60' times should be in the 1.9-1.8 range?
Because with my "pig" of a vert I pulled down 2.1's on streets with nothing more than gears.

You got to remember, nitrous aint always an "instant" thing. If he has a window switch, the nitrous might not engage until 3k rpms and if thats the case, the power won't really be felt till 4k. I'm also assuming he's launching on idle since its an automatic.

I hold the car back with the brake to 1800rpms when the light hits, I stomp to the floor. The nitrous switch is on the throttle body so when I stomp instant 448rwtq.
With 14lbs of pressure with 10.5 slicks the car hooks very well. I think with a good stall converter and a larger slick I could get my 60' into the 1.6 range and start pulling a wheel. The front end is starting to get light as it is.

Sorry I dont have a way to post slips. But if your only .4 behind me then whats the big deal.
Perhaps my times are not impressive compared to your car but the car is running very well for me.

Mind if I ask why you are foot-breaking a converter and not just launching it on idle ?

The car seems to hook better and when I nail it at 1800 rpms; the bottle seem to hit right away. From an idle there is a slight hesitation then the tires seem to bump loose and spin a slightly more. My 60' go down.

Well, I guess if you're getting positive results with it then go for it but normally you're suppost to launch on idle to "flash" the converter unless if you have a transbrake.

Ummmm.....
You can't drive dude! I know it's hard to admit, but you can't.
Listen it takes time and practice. All I've got is gears and a shifter and I ran 13.8 on street tires w/terrible track prep. And you know what? My driving needs tons of improvement!

Thanks for the info. I run very consistant at the track . When running 1/8 mile bracket. I can keep my times between 8.05 and 8.23 with 125 shot at 1000 psi. During the last few runs I let the bottle pressure creep up to 1100 lbs and try not to break out. There is not a whole lot to driving an automatic with slicks; I'm more worried about catching a good light.

something was definatley wrong with the car if it only gained .4 with those mods.

and there is no reason it shouldn't have been able to pull atleast a 2.0 60'.

you are saying,bolt-ons don't give very good performance gains. My car actually picked up .6 in the 1/4 from the xpipe, chip, pullies and 90lbs in weight reduction. I ran my car to a 13.68 at 98 with a 1.85 60' when all it had was 4.10s and et streets. Now in the same DA it runs 13.0s-1s all day long and picked up 4+mph. with the same 1.8 60's it runs in the high 13.1s. So i guess you are right, those boltons are pointless
