grinding noise and the motor rocks and wont start?

I dont know what this is the only thing I have done is put new heads on thats it. The battery went dead a day ago so I jumped it today and it just grinds like hell wont start. On top of that the motor rocks like crazy like it wants to jump out. I put a new starter in and it still wont turn over. The battery is charged up to. Did this some bitch lock up on me? I dont know what else it could be.

Can you turn the engine by hand from the bolt in the center of the crank pulley?

Very good thing to try first since the heads were changed. It will be much easier to do with the spark plugs out.

Did you take the distributor out too?

Dunno bout the grinding but rocking can be caused by a broken motor mount or a cylinder thats not firing, but if the car wont start to begin with that rules out the non-firing cylinder.
