Grinding noise????

Finally isolated the grinding noise... it notmaly only happend when i was turning corners and accelling... But say i put the car in 4th gear going 25ish and give it some gas sure enough its there... i dont know what it is comming from though Trans??? Rear diff??? Drive shaft??? Anyone have this problem??? ANy help would be great... this is the only think thats wrong with the car besides the ping i cant put my finger on.... on a good note clutch packs seem fine.

drive shaft probably... prob the UV joint, check that **** out...

when i had it on the lift one time and had it in gear it sounded like that was the problem... but when i spun the tires by hand it seemed fine... i think we might of solved it... any other ideas to check???

What's your power steering fluid look like? Could be the rack.

looked good but y would it grind going strait when in n4th at a low speed??? if it was the rack?

have you checked the DS for any rub marks?

i have the same problem especialy when there is smoke coming from the tire area, although my axle bearing is gone hehehehehe.
it might be the gears just cause you dont hear it when you turn it by hand or while its on a lift its looad free bud when your driving it pushing 3500-4000lb vehicle forward,hence the load. Things make different sounds under load which sux for easy diagnose and it also could be your clutches in the diff not gone but going, does one wheel rotate while the other doesnt when the tires go a spinning?

i think i had the same issue and finally i got it done 6 months later
check your shocks
my shocks were making grinding noise when turning and sometimes even just at acceleration n then i'd lift it up n no noise at all
let me know if its of any help
