Max timing + 94 octane = no pinging and more power for me .

I wasted 11 months of my life with my Predator not maxed. Did it 3 weeks ago, maxed both settings and mo' powa and no ping.

i just upped mine to 3% on both points, no knock on 91 cali pisswater. going to set it for 5% and see how she does.

small steps are best when it comes to tuning. you want to slowly find your edge, then back away to keep things safe.

and anybody lean things out any? i hear any leaning out you do is just compensated for by the ecu anyways, and the ecu figures it out and adds more fuel so basically makes it richer than it was before you leaned it out, thus decreasing performance.

The EEC will adjust closed-loop situations to achieve stoich, this is called adaptive learning. Basically the car can compensate to some degree if you are too lean/rich at part throttle.

To the best of my knowledge EEC-V does not adjust the open-loop fuel tables.

My settings

- Rev Limiter: 6100 (factory is 6050)
- Speed Limiter: 255
- COT (Catalyst Overtemp): OFF (causes the vehicle to run rich in the upper rpms if left on)
- Torque Management (aka Torque Reduction) is: OFF
- Traction Control is: ON (I didn't know if you wanted it OFF, so I will let you make that choice with the end-user options of the Predator)
- Rear O2's: ON (Magnaflow Catted X-Pipes do not trigger them)
- Fans: -15 degrees from factory
- Idle Speed: Stock
- Max Timing in upper rpms is: 20 to 23 degrees
- Fuel: You should be around mid to upper 12's on the a/f across the board.

I am maxed with SCT Xcal 1 but I ping a bit under load in 5th gear <1500 RPM. Worse with passengers.

I ping too....but with the xcal 2 I cant control timing so much as I can control the rich lean mixture in 3 areas. Idle-mid-wot. Then again I havent really played with it much as MDepot did a great job with the mail order tune.

ive got the predator programmer and i live in cali. the damn guide says to drop the timing down if ur using 91. so i droped mine down -1 2000-4000
-2 4000-6000. is that wrong?
