Hey guys. I just picked up a 2000 GT with 41k miles and the idle on the tach is as smooth as can be. No jump in rpm's or anything. The problem i have is that the idle feels rough through the shifter and kind of through the seat. It makes my leg move a bit. Also, if i listen to the exhaust it kind of pops a bit every 1-2 seconds as if i have flows or something but my exhaust is bone stock. BTW, im pretty sure its not misfiring or anything because the car runs VERY strong. Could it be that i just of need some new plugs? Thanks

You should go through it assuming that it did not have maint. And yes, this includes replacing plugs.

Also, clean MAF and reset PCM.

You need to do some serious searching and researching.

Maybe run some fuel injector cleaner through it too.

I have heard seafoam is good but never used it yet.

I suggest do a really good maintence on it.

Plug change
clean MAF
Fuel system cleaning
Oil change - duh?
Air filter? If its a K&N they may have over oiled it.
Reset PCM!

After running my GT hard for a while I'll get a rough ilde but goes away.

If you have the A/C on, it changes the rpm a little to run the compressor. It's Normal.

Do you have a k&n? If you do the oil from the filter gets in the mass airflow sencor and makes a rough idle. I suggest cleaning the sensor.

if you tune it up and it drives fine with no power loss, everything should be ok. if it was a plug or COP, you'd feel it during normal driving.

also, check to see if the previous owner put in aftermarket motor mounts.
