GT to LX taillights

I was thinking about changing from the GT taillights to a set of LX lights. Do you have to change any wiring or bulbs when you swap them?

they go on if i remember u have to change the buld color or you will have clear lights on turning lights

That's what I thought but was not sure. Anyone have any suggestions as to which light would look the best.

Personal preference really. I run 1993 Cobra taillights

I swapped to some 83 vert tail lights and it was still a direct swap on my 89, so I wouldn't think you would have to swap wiring at all.

i have an 87 GT Black and i just switched to the LX tailights. They look great!!!! i didnt have to change wiring, or bulbs.......i bet the LX on your red stang would look awesome. ...but that's just me.

are you guys swapping the whole lights or just the lens? if so where are you getting them b/c ive been wanting to do the same thing. thanks

I have been trying to find lens' at junkyards in the area, but no one seems to have stangs on the lot. Where is a good place to get them without spending too much?

I swapped the whole assembly when I did mine, my tail light housing was cracked on top on both sides so I swapped the whole thing.

Keep in mind that when you change the tailights to lx's, the blinkers will be white if you don't change the bulbs to orange.
While it does look better, it also does violate most state laws.

u have the upr smoked on my car they seem to be a good lens
