i have a 2000 gt and wanted to make sure i have things straight before i act on what i noticed earlier today.
The tranny i have is the t3650 right? and you dont need to use the shift stops with those trannys cause they have them internally right? The reason i ask this is because i was un happy with my shifter and it did not feel stock and found that it was a hurst shifter when looking closer i saw that the person that i bought the car from had used the stops. Now i know that the stops arent what is causing my dislike with the shifter i just dont want to hurt anything in the tranny.

Thanks guys

You've got the T-45. The TR3650 did'nt show up until mid 2001.

yep, T-45, and you need the stops there. Only the t3650 and the t56(i believe) have internal stops.

Its ok

The T3650 can handle more power and is a smoother shift.

The 3650 has had problems with the gears grinding in the cold

The T45 gets stuck in reverse, overall good tranny

Word on the street has it that most newer Tremec tranny's have internal stops, but not the T-45.

T45s dont have internal stops. But IMO they are probably a smoother shifting tranny than our 3650s. Until you put royal purple into the 3650s, they pretty much suck on the shifting side lol.

I would call tremec. I though they all had internal stops. could be worng though.

it does not say anthing about stop on either the t-45 or the 3650 on their webpage so I would call them just to be 100% positive. I know the stock shifter did not have stop so they have to have something in there IMO.
