For you guys that have already done this swap on our cars, I have a couple of questions.

1.
I will be using the stock cam, do I need to change the valvesprings?

2.
Will the stock headers work? If not, which ones have you used with success?

3.
Can I re-use my head bolts?

4.
Is there anything else I should know?

Thanks
George

1) no you dont need to change them, but you should have them checked to make sure their within spec if you want them to perform well

2) the stock headers will bolt up, dont know about clearence with them tho. im running BBK shortie headers and had to make a custom socket to change the #7 spark plug. also youll need 90degree plug boots. no big deal

3) no you shouldnt re use the stock bolts, their tq to yeild bolts. get a set of ARP's and you wont have to worry about them

Absolutely change the valve springs!! Have them clean up milled and change the valve seals too.

Get arp head bolts and torque them to the specs ARP calls for using the lube they recommend.

If you get new headers, now is a perfect time for longtubes.

Any recommendations on valve springs?

Also, what head gaskets should I go with?

I'm not so sure the stock headers will bolt up.

When I got my car it already came with GT40P heads and the stock headers. The one side fit with no problems. The other header was beat to **** with a hammer to get it to clear the plugs. Something tells me that it didn't "really" fit the first time....

i am running stock p heads with the trickflow spring kit.....I was using bbk shorties with no problems, but i did need 90 deg boots and i used some boot insulators for insurance. i would run arp bolts/studs of course, and if your not running boost, some felpro 9333-pt1's.....if you are gonna run boost, just throw down for some felpro mls gaskets...trust me.

I'm running Comp 942 springs on my GT40 non-P heads. As for the cam, who knows what would be best. People have good results with the e303 despite a lot of people hating that cam (ehem grn92lx ).

I've seen your posts with the blown head gaskets...I believe you. Eventually I want to supercharge but won't be throwing crazy boost at it.

You guys think these springs should be ok?
