guys! need some help, scary problem today.

ok i got the cams and heads installed recently. drove about 300 miles since i had them.

today i look under the hood to put stb back on. i notice what appears to be oil sitting in the valve cover bolts on the passenger side. the back to. (you know when you wash your engine all the water sits in these spots on on top of the valve cover and you cant get it out)

the oil was in the last to valve cover bolts toward the firewall. i inspected the area and seemed to be oil around this tube that plugs into the head. i dont know what its called, but it comes from the upper plenum and goes into the head.

there was oil around that too, part that goes in the head. so i wiped everything off. started her up to see if anything leaked out. all i saw was smoke coming from that area. not alot but enough, also smelled like somthing was burning. nothing seemed to be leaking. but smoke keep coming untill the fan turned on and i was blowing it so i could not see it.

took car for a drive short, to see if more oil came out. it didnt seem to leak after the short drive. so im waiting till the engine is cooled off so when i start it the fan dont come on, and ill see if there is more smoke.

any ideas?

thanks guys. yea the pcv valve tube is really loose. i never noticed it like that before. i always clean my engine so i know it wasnt like that before. at least not to the point of leaking into the valve cover bolts. if that is even where the oil is comming from? well i will have to keep aneye on it.

i started it back up. right now im s o relieved. it didnt seem to smoke anymore at least from what i could see. i did try to adjust the pcv tube but that thing could be longer. anyway no smoke and dont see anymore oil since i cleaned it.

oil actually seems like too much. i brought my builder 6qts. i guess he used them all. i usually like to do 5 1/5.

there seems to be alot of confusion on how many qts to put in.

wait the last post just confused me a little, sorry. there is supposed to be oil running throung that tube right? just not out of it.
