Guys with fox trannies

I was forced to go with a fox body transmission and bellhousing due to my 1 3/4" BBK headers. My question is the following: Why is the shifter moved up so far in the center console now and is there any way to move it farther back? It seems as though I'll bang my fist on the console whenever I shift into 3rd and 5th.

the foxbody bellhousing is approx 1-2 inches shorter...dont know of any ways to move shifter but a shifter handle with a bend toward the rear may help.

Yea since the fox bel is shorter and so is the input shaft on the tranny everytiing is moved forward including your shifter, a different handle may be able to fix this problem. Another thing...You may have to attach a driveshaft spacer at the pinion flange to get the driveshaft to engage properly with the splines in the tranny. Unless you have a custom driveshaft....

why not just swap in an SN95 5.0 input shaft? Its actually pretty easy.
