Guys with wheel spacers, I NEED HELP!

I bought a set of hubcentric 1" wheel spacers for the rear of my car. Does anyone know where I can get short lug nuts for my wheel spacers (that bolt the spacer to the brake disc)? I need them short enough to bolt to the stock studs and not protrued out of the spacer too far to interfer with the wheel being bolted flush to the spacer.

HELP ME!

have you tried to install them yet, i have a 1.25 in. and did'nt have problems with bolt protruding. but i noticed on my cobra wheels when installing there were cavities behind wheels that would allow for protrusion....

know what your after but I'll be dammned if I can remember them being sold somewhere, but have seen them around???....Mini-lugnuts????
Give MM a call... You might be able to score some from them???

when i bought my spacers from mm they came with those lugnuts.

All you need are some stock lug nuts. I'm sure someone here has a set. You can use the ones that came with the waffles or tri-bars. Any ones that go under a cap and you can try other Fords lugs.

Cut the studs a little less than an inch, say 15/16" or 31/32" long, using a roto-zip or similar cut off tool. Then file a chamfer back on the end of each stud to remove the burrs and allow the nut to be installed back on the stud easier. There is plenty of thread for the spacer plate nuts that are supplied with them. Just be sure after you install the spacers that after 50-100 miles you remove the wheels and retorque them to be sure they are not coming loose.

I thought when you buy the spacers, they come with the lugs to attach them. Also, if they dont, like JR said, you should be able to use stock lugs..


BTW- have you determined if yourr studs are too long and have to be cut?

They do come with lug nuts but not the studs and that is what I assumed he meant.

Yes the studs definately have to be cut but the problem is the nuts that they sent me when bolted to the stock studs stick out of the spacer too far. They stick out past the face of the spacer, so I need shallower lug nuts. I plan on using my stock lug nuts to bolt the wheel to the spacer.

Man, I'm sorry for assuming . . . anyway, if you're going to use the stock nuts I would think you'd be ok. Have you got in touch with who you bought them from, they must have sent you the wrong lugs and should send you the correct ones at no charge I would think.

Damn...I thought the ones they provide are supposed to be flush.

WHERE DID YOU BUY THOSE??? I Wanted to get a set, but I dont know if the problem youre having is common to ALL sets, or just the ones you bought.

Just so you guys know they came with nuts. Does anyone know whether they are to hold the spacer on or the wheel on. It seems like they would be for the spacer being I already have lug nuts for the wheels.

you should use the ones that came with them to bolt them to the car, and use yours to bolt the wheel to the spacer ,can you take apic of the mating surface of your new wheels? my stock cobra wheels have room for the stud to stick out some in between the bolt holes.

Yeahloh95- That's what I thought but the nuts they sent are too tall and stick out past the spacer. Also my wheels will no allow the studs to be too long, I must cut them down although I am not concerned too much with that.

Do tribars have the space necessary on the backside of the wheel to fit the studs?

I would think that MMs nuts are shallow enough to prevent this problem, but they do mention that if there is not space on the backside of the rim between each stud hole, then some cutting is necessary on the stock studs.

I bought mine off of ebay prob from the same place for like $69 and they came with the lug nuts also. They are to bolt the spacer to the axle or that's what they are intended for.
I bolted mine right on up and they have a little bit of the stud sticking out but my wheels accept that. Have you tried to put the wheel on there with the spacer already and it won't fit flush against the spacer?

Thanks for the help guys. I figured out my problem. You see I only opened the box and took out one spacer. Well today I took out the other spacer and low and behold there was a bag in the bottom of the box with had low profile lug nuts in it. Put them on and they cleared perfectly. I am such a dumb a$$, sorry about wasting your time.

Anyways I cut the studs down and finally finished the install. Looks great and the wheels line up perfect with the fender edge. Thanks again guys, and I will try not being so dumb in the future but I think I was born that way.
