Thinking about picking one up to help solve my PCV oil issues... looking for any input you may have about the pump and company. Street Vacuum Pump Kits

man ive been considering this for a while, ive pretty much made up my mind ill be getting one on my next combo and running more boost but it wont be for a while, you might just have to be the test mule.

But in short, if I have the PCV hooked up I burn oil like crazy (though the intake) and if I have a breather set up I blow oil out of the seals

Sounds like you have excessive blowby. Might want to see about spending that money to at least refresh the engine's bottom end. I bet your leakdown is terrible.

There is another option that i have seen that works well and cost very little and that is a catch can inline of your PCV line from the intake to the PCV valve. I've seen them made from soup cans before.

nope, its definitely the PCV... motor only has 3000 miles since build and did'nt burn any oil when a simple breather set up was used. Oil consumption only started since PCV was hooked up.

Go to the junkyard and find a electric evac pump and use it. My buddies car has this setup on it, super cheap and super effective. Just run a switch to inside the car or wire it up so it turns on with key on. I'm not sure what all vehicles have them but I think his came from an older chevrolet car or import. I'm going to use one on mine in the future probably, plus since it's electric you can mount it where ever you like.

Awsome idea. I've heard of it before but thanks for reminding everyone. Imagine that, practical use of 80-90's smog equipment!

I run an electric smog pump off of a newer mustang, the motorcraft# is cx1567 pulls about 4'' of vac.

you dont need a pump, just do this...

between the can and the fittings im probly into it for 250 bucks including valvecovers. ZERO OIL CONSUMPTION.

my engine builder told me that those pumps only make a difference on big boost cars, and you really have to be on your game when sealing the motor up because your actually creating pressure in the crankcase

I bought a moroso canister, a straight -12 fitting, a 90 degree -12 fitting, 3 feet of -12 line, and made a custom bracket so i could bolt the can to the front of the cylinder head, I also have another -12 90 degree fitting that i might put on the canister so the hose dosent loop around. Its really simple and works 100%.

Also you need to plug the PVC valve in the back of the intake. I made a press fit plug out of aluminum on a lathe for that.
