I put on a Mac off road H-pipe last night and I was wondering how much power did I gain and how much torque did I lose? I didn't really feel an SOTP feel so i know I lost some torque, but how much is the question. And is that lose in torque going to hurt my 1/4 time? I was hoping to feel alot more power since I have a Densecharger CAI and TFS Plenum I thought the H-pipe would show the potential of the intake set up. Also how can I quiet that damn thing down a little I was thinking of dyno matting the under carriage of the car what do you guys think.

I had a mac off road h-pipe on my 97gt conv.. Although the torque didn't dimminish i'd say my h.p. went up 10 to the wheels. I'm still not p.i. either.

if you're going to dyonmat your car I'd just take out the seats front and rear, take out the rug and all. dyno mat the front floor and rear floor and underneath the seat. might as well. For keeping quiet I wouldn't go with flows. go with magnaflow or something else if you're trying to keep the sound down.

I have had the flows for a while now and I have gotten use to them so there not that loud anymore to me. But that damn h-pipe has this cackal sound to it when I get on it. I was thinking of dynamatting the underneeth of the car as well as in the trunk because I think there is already sound dampening stuff under the carpet but I know there's none in the trunk. Also I was reading either 5.0 magazine or MM&FF and they were putting a Borla exhaust on and they incerted something in the tail pipes to quiet the exhaust down. If you know what I'm talking about were can I get that.

They come free with a box of tampons. WTF?

You didn't lose any torque, either. You gained more HP, but only in the upper RPMs. I just feels like you lost torque. You might have made 175HP at the wheels at 3000 RPM before and peaked at 225HP at 4700. Now, you might make 165HP at 3000, but you prolly got 235 at 4700-5000RPM. It moves your whole power curve to the right if you're looking at a dyno-chart.

4.10's usually cure this.

I put a Mac o/r h pipe and Flows on about 3 weeks ago and I definately lost some grunt especially in 4th and 5th gears. Low rpm's in those gears feel more limp than before the swap.

Any time you do anything to your car to increase the HP (other than forced induction), you will gain that HP in the upper RPM's. In a much broader perspective, a Nextel Cup car makes about 800 N/A HP from 358 cubic inches at about 8,000RPMs. They prolly feel like dogs at 1,500 RPMs, too. They run 5.66 and 6.13 gears at most of the tracks other than super speedways. Rev your car higher and enjoy your HP!

I do feel it in the upper rpm's but down low its a dog plus I have an auto so it makes it worse.
