I bought an Mac off road H pipe for my 97 Cobra and i put it on and it pops and just doesent sound right to me it sounds like a j brake to a truck almost its that how its suppose to sound or what? oh i have flowmaster mufflers but i was just wondering if thats how its suppose to sound or what

check for leaks but more than likely thats the way it is suppose to sound because of lack of backpressure

I'de say either you don't like the sound of it or U have a leak.

It only pops if you let the car gear down when coming to a stop. If you don't like that sound, maybe get a catted H.

Dude it sounds like a leak to me if you are sure you have flowmasters then it should sound nice. But if it is popping you have a leak. Take it in so they can use an impact wrench to tighten up the bolts.

Cats won't cure this, nor will a Bassani midpipe (actually that would likely sound worse). It should only pop when down shifting...but a catted H will do this too. If it's popping more than this, you've got a leak somewhere....

Yeah I'm sure there is flowmasters on it i had em put on but i dont know its just got a weird sound more of a import sound then a mustang sound so i think maybe ill go back to the stock pipe Because it sounded good with that and the flowmasters or maybe take it somewhere and get them to check it out for me

I took it to an exhuast shop and the guy said why it didnt have a mustang kinda sound was because i had single chamber flowmaster mufflers on it and it was to loud soo he put 4 chamber flowmasters on it and now for me...its not loud enough anyone think i should go with 2 chamber flows?

Had the same sound on my 96' Cobra. Turned out to be the flowmaster. Jack that thing up and check the muffler.

I think the 2 chambers sound like a better idea.

What happened to the 2 or 3 chambers? My preferred flowmaster sound is the 3 chamber.

Yea theres 4 chambers i mean the single chambers just didnt sound right they didnt have a stang kinda sound but i wanted it loud but the 4 chambers he put on have hardly no sound so i called him up and he's suppose to call me back im gonna tell him i want the 2 chambers
