A boroscope is a fiber optic scope that you can feed down in through the spark plug hole and peer around in the cylinder. You can look at everything form the piston up. See if your valves were hit, if the cylinder walls are scored, etc.. Never looked to price one. I've always borrowed the one from work when I needed it.
