so i pretty much owned myself on this one. for the first time ever in a car, i showed off a little bit with the cobra. leaving work i held it sideways through third in the rain. not revving it too hard (4k shifts).

about a mile down the road, i hear something metal dragging as i take a right onto the main road. i think i heard something, does it again, then its consistant. i pull over, trying to keep it together look under the car for a driveshaft/pieces of something.

the god damn muffler from the magnaflow catback i installed yesterday is sitting verticle and almost touching the ground. yesterday this happened during the install:

i completely forgot about it. nothing clamping the muffler to hold it correctly since there is no hanger for it. i got it home and looked down, the muffler isint damaged at all, popped it back into place on the flow tube, and ill be going and buying my exhaust clamp when the store opens.

just thought i would share. i was so damn happy to see just a muffler hanging. otherwise it was a damn fun drive. lesson learned: dont leave off exhaust clamps.

You bonehead.

Glad something didn't break, though.

same here. i did learn also that magnaflow mufflers can take one hell of a dragging and not get damaged.

i knew i needed a clamp eventually, i was just thinking to prevent the exhaust leak. never thought to think it had no hanger to hold it in place thats what not working on a car for awhile does for me.

that was the dumbest part i suppose, first time ive ever done anything like that with people to see. wanting to hear the new exhaust got to me i think.

it was only me on a 4 lane road, whenever i mess around its just me out there. i dont feel too bad about it though, because i never mess around remotely with people around. only out by myself with no cars/obsticles to hit.

i just drag the muffler home the rest of the way

i went out to get new clamps, autozone (closest place to me) wanted 5 dollars for each 2 1/2" clamp. i was like wtf, then went to the other place. paid 2 bucks a piece for the same thing.

put one on the front and rear of the muffler. exhaust shouldnt be going anywhere now

I had a tail pipe fall out of the muffler before, that was kind of funny. The Cobra went from sounding like a champ to sounding like a chump.
