what's the dealer trying to charge you? The handle comes primed ready to paint and only retails for $42.38, it's Ford part# AR3Z-6322405-AAPTM,
buy it from the dealer, find a local bodyshop to paint it and install it youself.

Why not check with a local body shop to see what they would charge to spray it. A replacement has to be sprayed anyhow, why pay for an extra handle. They could do it in half a day if you schedule it.

If they prep it well (Sand all the way to the edges) it should hold just fine. They would have to sand the replacement well too, so again, why pay for the replacement.
