I’m replacing the driver’s side engine mount and removed these bolts. Have anyone seen them before? They felt like they were torqued in by hulk. Now, the bolt from the back won’t thread in when installing the new mount. They appear triangular, but I’m at a loss as to where the previous owner got them. A quick online search suggests they might be “trilobe” bolts designed to be self-tapping, but I’m still confused as to how they ended up in my engine bay.

Run a 7/16-14 bottom tap where the motor mount bolts go on the block and that will ensure the threads are cleaned up. Buy the ARP bolts as suggested and move on.
