*shrug* Their website stinks, no doubt about it. But many on VMF have their drum-to-disc Mustang conversion, and the reports have been quite favorable......so I pass it along.

In the "services" section of the VMF forum they have a Mustang-specific ad that covers their Ford offerings, I believe.

The basic, no fancy dodads WilWood kit is $547 from Summit. The basic Baer kit is $650. A Rod&Custom Motorsports RC132 kit is $350 and comes with stainless lines.

A '67 PDB MC is $25. A Foxbody 2.3 booster is $70. Take that, MPB!

Also, a VMFer had problems with the MPB booster not being a true bolt-in and ditched it.

IMHO, for what it is, the MPB kit is a screwing. Add $100 for the booster and MC to any of the kits I mentioned, and you'd save at least $100.

I do and my experience was overwhelmingly negative.

I called to put together a kit last October. The guy I talked to over the phone took all the info on my car and selected the components for me. I asked if everything was in stock and ready to ship and he said yes, it would ship within a few days. I wanted everything shipped to my house in Michigan before I came back for the deer season/Thanksgiving so I could take it back with me to Europe on my return flight

I get home and everything is there except the brake booster, which is on special order. This irks me because I cannot take it back with me for free as planned. Now I have to pay to have it shipped. The extra shipping and duty costs me $184. WHen I go to have the booster installed, it is the wrong booster. It is a booster for an old corvette and it is too long for the shock tower by a good 3 inches. MPB will not reship me a new one. Rather, they force me to buy a new one and agree to refund the money on the old one when they get it. They will not pay return shipping to the US on the incorrectly shipped item. I sent it back a few months ago with my sister, who was visting me on vacation. They ship the new one to me at my own expense, causing me to incur an additonal $204 in shipping and duty. I had to pay an extra $384 for my kit because of their mistake.

One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with.

I installed the power front disc kit from mpc on my 67 and it came with everything I needed. The only things that I needed to modify were a couple of brake lines and the hole in the firewall for the power booster needed to be enlarged by about 3/4 in. also one more hole has to be added for the booster, now the booster is mounted wth 5 bolts instead of 2. The kit uses a combo valve that contains the metering valve and the proportioning valve and seems to work well for my car. Eveything works as advertised and I am very pleased with their kit. The other kits mentioned in other posts are not complete kits and most will require larger wheels adding to the expense, the ssbc kit is complete but will cost 400 dollars more

Many of us have 14" wheels and not having to buy wheels is a big deal for us, I contacted several of these companies when researching kits before my purchase and none would say for sure they would fit with most 14's. My "sucky misinformation" is just a warning to be careful that you dont end up buying new wheels. I have nothing to gain in any way no matter what brakes someone buys I just know what worked for me and my car. Maybe next time you can cool your jets and leave out the B.S comments also

Mustang Steve Cobra disk brake conversion. Enough said!!!! Don't throw your money at old technology unless you're determined to keep 14 through 16" wheels. If you want serious, legitimate braking at a good price, then there's no comparison, IMHO, to Mustang Steve's kit for late model Cobra brakes. It does require 17" wheels, but its a pretty safe bet that you already want those. Edbert has already done this conversion; search the forums for "Edbert" and you'll find what I'm speaking of. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't afford new 17" wheels, and with two kids in diapers won't be able to for awhile. I used the MPB kit and am basically happy with it. As previously posted, it was a bolt-in with the only mods being to the hard brake lines (cut and reflare, a little bending) and drilling/enlarging some holes in the firewall BECAUASE I upgraded to power from manual -- this required a 1/2 drill and a big, expensive bit, the hardened steel brake pedal support will eat a HSS bit. I'm happy with the performance, if anything I still haven't gotten used to the lack of effort it takes to stop the car (I don't drive it daily anymore). The kit came complete and took a weekend to install.

I used many of thier parts back when I comverted Chepie to disc, though I used the Granada spindles. I had only positive results, though their distribution/prop block does use the GM style light connections & circuit.

Sooo Sorrryy! The reason they wouldn't say for sure is that they've either never tested it or you got a counter monkey, most of whom have never seen a car. If you can fit an 11.5" rotor under the rear with 14" wheels, an 11" rotor will fit in front. And, besides, the stock KH rotor was 11.25". Also, you can pick up a set of 15" steel wheels at a junkyard for $25...maybe I'm just cheap, but that doesn't bother me one bit.

Umm... that kit is listed for a 68-70 mustang(which would probably include the afore mentioned 67 ).

Am I missing something or will this kit fit his 65? Or my 66...Ford brakes on a Ford car? Sounds cool to me!
