the suspension/handeling/brakes route vs raw power? i've been thinking about it and since im going to be buying a gt, why not throw on some good brakes and suspension since its going to take quite a bit to stay up with a stock cobra.
I did at first... cobra brakes all around, cobra IRS, maximum motorsports coilovers, full bushings, etc. Added power later, went well! I switched back to solid axle to do more drag racing, but I've kept up with the good handling suspension bits (coilovers still, control arms, bushings, panhard, soon to be adding tri-link, etc.).
Handling is good, power is good, both are great if you can do them at the same time
that's what i plan on doing until i have money for S-Trim (a VERY long time)...idc what anyone says, the stang is a fast car i'm happy with the straight-line performance for now
Thats what I had planned on, but I was just too drawn into the power. I bought my s-trim headunit and almost the complete kit, then tried to sell it to get suspension stuff instead, but too many people were dicking me around so I just put it on. 350hp later, I'm trying to get my suspension in order now. I was lowered, now I just installed an IRS and unless I pick up an intercooler, all mods from now on will be handling related, whether it be coilovers, tubular front end, or roll bar.
