I was filling up today, and the gas overflowwed and went onto the ground...but from under my car (assuming the nozzle has a hole for vapors/overfill). Has this ever happened to anyone else and if so, did it cause anything bad to happen? I heard about a guy overfilling his tank the other day and his car ran rough. I didn't "top it off," but it happened from just using the handle lock on the gas nozzle, so I KNOW it wasn't my fault.

there is an overflow tube. What you experienced is not uncommon, just a gas nozzle that shut off too late causing it to spill out of the overflow tube.

Yer fine, tho I would wash the car now. Especially here in Cali with the added chemicals to gasoline it may not be the best for your clear coat.

if u take the gas cap off and look inside ull see a hole in the outer rim..then if u look underneath ur car u will see the tube. It's better than the gas leaking onto the brim and then all over ur car. It got me the first time as well but i was more worried about the gas cuz it was almost 3 bucks a gallon at the time

Yeah, I must have done that atleast three times. It won't hurt your car at all. It will only hurt your ego, as other people look over at you and think to themselves ... "what a dumbass!"
