Hatch carpet keeps flying around, idea's for securing it?

i have a rear seat delete in my car. i have the carpet back there and whenever i get on it, the carpet rips from the screws i have holding it. the screws im using go into the base of the car and through the trim pieces.

ill post a pic of how its setup. im wondering what i could do possibly to secure this better so its not flying around on me.

maybe double sided tape or something dude velcro probly wouldnt work.

pic turned out kinda blurry now that i look at it.

you can see how the carpet comes up over the hump section from my rear seat delete, then the hatch carpet meets where it ends. except it keeps flying around and i cant find a way to secure it efficiently.

im thinking maybe just get a thin layer of black material/carpet type from walmart. then ill cut out a template from my hatch carpet, and it will be easier to secure that since it doesnt weigh much and is thinner. the only downside is possibly a noisier cab?

i know some other people have removed their rear seats.

i tried both of those in addition to the screws holding it. they just dont bond well with the carpet surface.

You could get some interior glue (spray adhesive) Give it a liberal coating and it should bond with both the carpet backing and anything it touches.

hmm, how permanent is that? i dont have a spare tire or anything in the well, but i do run my subwoofer wiring under the carpet. i could just run a bead around the outer edge as well.

where do you get this stuff at? just a regular parts store?

It's not too permanet. I was thinking that you could just spray it on near the front of the carpet were it is flying up. Then if you had to change tires, you could just flip the carpet forward.

We had an interior store were I used to buy my adhesive from. You could try a yellow pages search for anywhere that works on headliners. They will surely have it. You could even try audio shops (they might spray on their carpets)

cool thanks. im probably going to order black hatch carpet to match in that case. i still have the grey crap back there with a halfass template of paper thin black carpet i laid over it.

hopefully somewhere local will carry the adhesive.
