They are available in stainless steel

Use them WHERE?
Those are the same hinges that are used on Sikorsky Helicopters for fiberglass access panels.

I'm guessing rear window louver latches.

Yes they would be used as the lower louver latch below the hatch window.

If you used two on top, and two on the bottom,you could remove it or install it at your own whim!
