How do you get the old hatchback supports off so I can replace them .

I believe they are just attached to a ball like bracket. and there is a metal clip in the supports that clip on to it. I think you can just pry them off. I havent had a hatch in a while and dont remember that much. But if there arent any screws to take the bracket off then it just clips on.

old blue is correct. there is a metal clip on them.. you should be able to take a small flathead screw driver and lift up on that clip then pull out. it might be different, depending on what brand you have. they might be somewhat different.
