So I gave away my stock gas tank today. After communicating via text for a few hours, dude comes to pick it up.

Dude looks like mark whalberg spent too much time at the jersey shore. Ok, that's cool but not my style. What bothers me is he is yelling at his 4 yo son to shut up and such while he is telling me he is putting in a 302 based 408 with 10:1 compression turbo, and spray.

Umm don't you mean 351 based 408?

Nawww man it's for sure a 302 block and for sure a 408 stroker.

But.....

No man this is what it is!

Ok man. I also sold him notch specific parts for his GT even though I explicitly said it won't work. Whatever.

I hate selling parts.

If you think selling parts is bad, try listing a car on CL and stating you'd consider a trade. It doesn't matter what you specify, I swear you'll have every mental midget from here to Dallas call you with stupid questions about the most ridiculous stuff. I posted up a car for sale or trade ONLY for a fox mustang and some jackass called me wanting me to trade him for a 79 Dodge van that didn't run...

Edit***. Just realized how creepy that sounded. Not my intention at all

I grew up with a guy that had a ford from the 60's. He got stoned and flipped it, and it got stuck 8 feet off the ground in a tree. They cut it down with a chainsaw, rolled another doobie, and drove it home. True story.

I believe buying from Craigslist is even worse. Since half the people who put the ad up act like they don't even frikken know about it.

I constantly see the craigslist ads lately that say selling for a friend or something along those lines and dont ask questions. As someone who has sold plenty of stuff on craigslist I am not going through the aggravation of dealing with that for someone else.

well, a 351 can go to 427.... so 427+104=531. Yep. you're good!

A 385ci 2v, I like the sound of that. Years ago, a guy I worked with bought a a new Chevy pick up. It had a special 5.0 350. I spent about 10 minutes trying to explain to him it doesn't work like that. But the salesman told.him it was a 350 so damn it, its a 350. I gave up. His friend, a "car guy", swore to me.this was correct. Car guy owned a camaro. Some people's kids.....

Selling stuff sucks. Even when you specifically put "NO TRADES....CASH ONLY" in the ad, some people are still trying to pawn off their useless junk on you. I used to indulge them, but now I just tell them to off and not to contact me again unless it was with cash in hand.

When I was trying to sell my Cougar, I got everything from Boats, to ATV's, to Snowmobiles, to early-90's economy cars. I had the car listed at $10,500 at one point and some tool offered me his '92 Civic (complete with wing and fart pipe) +$1,000 cash for my car. I asked he what he was smoking that he thought his POS civic was worth $9,500....needless to say, he didn't reply.

A few months ago I was selling my DD Olds to buy my truck. I had it listed on CL for $2,200 I had a lot of calls offering $1,000 to $1,200 before even seeing the car or asking details. What kind of moron makes an offer of half the asking price and hasn't even looked at the car? BTW, I sold the car in three days for $2,000 so I can thank CL for that.

I like the "what's your best price?" question.... As if the price listed in the ad is made up and/or irrelevant. I may just start making up numbers for a price. Maybe add in some letters to make it a fifth order polynomial. Can't figure out the price? Guess you don't need it then.

Yep. Before CL I went to look at a wrecked 80 Mustang with a 255 v8. Front end was wadded up bad, so the k member, and sheetmetal was trash. Remains of hood would need to be cut off. Had 13 inch steel wheels. Pea green.

Guy wanted $500 because it had one of those 355 motors like they use in NASCAR.
