Any of you guys ever make your own CAI? post some pics or give me some details if you did. I'm debating this concept myself.

why does anyone continue to believe the fairytale that CAI is so awesome?! K&N and no air silencer....doesn't get much cheaper than that...and if you want some bling slap the K&N sticker on your car

I made one a long time ago. It was a fun project, but I can't say that it made more power or lost power. Just that it was a fun project.

FWIW, the oem one is back on now.

FWIW = For what its worth.

Also, I wanted to make my own CAI as a fun project as well. Furthermore, do you know what kind of CAI you'd get for $45 on ebay? I do... a metal POS taht would rob horsepower.

The JLT CAI that i wanted to buy was like $180. And all it is is 4" PCV tubing painted black. So i figured i could just make my own.

That stock intake tubing looks like crap and is restrictive

Stock intake tubing is restrictive? I don't think so... thats why aftermarket intakes don't benefit us all that much. But I do agree it would be a fun project to fab one yourself

I will disagree with you there. It really isn't that bad unless you start getting into FI.

N/A (stock motor), it's fine and you can spend the money elsewhere.
