head gasket

I blew a head gasket from what I can tell.

if I drop the K member would it be possible to change the drivers side head gasket without fully removing the engine? I think it would, just want a second opinion.


it is a 2001 DOHC engine

in my 96 cobra, it was so much hastle to do it on one side without removing the engine, that we went ahead and pulled the engine and replaced both head gaskets... other gaskets... and a clutch. it gave us a good oppertunity to clean out the engine, but i regret not replacing the stock rods and pistons with forged ones, then i could run more boost... alot more than 15psi anyway. good luck.

i did do a pass side h/ gsk on my 99 cobra, the driver side looks alot harder, i think hydro boost has to come out. that side hard just to remove the v/cover. good luck i fell 4 u.
