Head Gaskets

Ok so I go to start my car and it keeps dying right after it starts. I look under the hood and notice I am leaking fluid. It turns out to be coolant from a head gasket. She is smoking from the drivers side pipe(white).

So my first Q, is would a blown head gasket cause the car to die right after it starts?

Any ideas on what else I should replace or look at while I have the heads off? Any suggestions on what kind of gaskets to buy?

use Mr. Gasket gasket Ive never had any bad luck with these. You can get it cheap from summit or jegs
