I have a set of stock 1966 289 heads that I am in the process of porting. I am gasket matching the intake and exhaust ports, no problem with that. My question is on the exhaust ports inside and on the top there is a hump/bump? Is it beneficial or recommended to grind down this hump? What do you guys think. I thought that I read something about grinding it away but i can't find anything in my reference material to back this up? What do you guys think? Let me know.

Getting rid of that bump in the exhaust port is key to making stock heads flow decently.

Cool! Thanks for the reply I wanted confirmation before I went crazy with the grinder. I just didn't want to grind it off and find out the metal was too thin underneath later.
