Hi all,
On my 306 I have a pair of 170 TFS twisted wedge and matching lower intake.
I’m just curious if anyone tried to head/port matching and at the same time head/intake port alignment, trying to use Felpro 1262 gasket. Right now I’m using Felpro 1250.
Will head/intake alignment make any difference in air flowing without any bumps in their path or will it be irrelevant?
If anyone have done that how did you mirror transferred the head port onto the intake?

Thank you

Use a sacrificial gasket to [scribe] the pattern onto the head and intake surface then blend them smooth. You don't have to go far into the port [at all]. Go in just enough to make the ramp. Use a micrometer to keep them uniform. Scribe your intended port transition depth before you start smoothing.

Less is more and all that jazz...

I already did that using the 1250 gaskets, is it good or bad to use the 1262??? By the way I tried to use the regular gaskets and I hate them because somehow and for some reason they disintegrate al the water ports. To avoid that I use the 1250 S3 and love them. And if I decide to go a bit bigger then I will use the 1262 S3 gasket port match and align the intake runners for a smooth transition, or at least that’s the plan

Thanks man

Port match with the same part number gasket that you intend to use. Easier to eliminate errors that way. No idea what the actual difference are between gasket ports without measuring them.
That’s my intention, I don’t know if there should be a problem to open the ports by going to the Felpro 1262 S3…
Here are the two gaskets ports dimensions as reference:

Thank you

Felpro 1250 S3
Port Height (in.): 2.000
Port Width (in.): 1.200

Felpro 1262 S3
Port Height (in.): 2.100
Port Width (in.): 1.280

My Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and Performer RPM II lower are opened up to the 1262 with zero issues. Not TFS gear but I would not hesitate to open them up to that gasket.
That’s my plan unless there are some issues which I just don’t think there are. Doing that and a good bowls and runners cleaning (As they’re “fast as cast”) should have good results in performance nothing crazy but good enough
Thank you
