Header Headaches!

Does anyone have any luck getting long tube headers to fit in a 68 stang 351 - and power steering? Just got a new intake and 750cfm carb, wanted to make sure I'd get the most out of them. I was told to stay away from shorties as I would gain nothing but looks over the stock manifolds. Any advise or help in this would be great.

Did you get that link to Ford Powertrain Appications I sent you? That might be an option if you want longtube headers and P/S.......and a 351W. If not, shorties will definitely get you the clearance since the exhaust can be built around your power steering. Like was mentioned in the other thread; whoever says shorties wont gain you anything is a crackhead. Even '87+ 5.0 Mustangs see a gain and they came with factory tubular headers! They arent that far behind longtubes. Also, dont bother with equal-length shorties; the access and installation problems they make are not worth the tiny improvement over unequal-length.

I bought the Ford Powertrain headers for my 351 with powersteering and a drop bracket. Go with shorty headers so that you dont have issues later down the road when you want to intall a power steering rack.

Your right... I will go with the shorties... I think that is the one big problem with message boards.. There is a TON of mis-information. But then you got to take the good with the bad. "The Good" I would have never been able to do 1/2 of the things Im doing to my car with out the boards...
Thanks guys.
