Header not seated properly?

I was changing my passenger side exhaust manifold gasket tonight, using a felpro gasket. The problem is it looks like there is too much space between the gasket and the head/header. Maybe Im just being an idiot, but shouldnt it tighten all the way? I tightened the 8 bolts as much as possible, and it still sounds ticky. Is it possible that the header is not seated properly or something? thanks.

What type of headers? Do they have a sealing bead?

Im not too sure what kind of headers they are, unequal length shorties is all I know. Im not too sure what a sealing bead is, so I'm going with no. I was also concerned that I cross threaded the bolts, but it seems like everytime i readjusted the header it would go on the same way so I don't think I did.

ooof i hope you didnt cross the threads.....ouch..... you should use ARP bolts for that btw they are much better. Also start the car up, do you hear an exhaust leak. B/c if its a header leak you will def. hear it.
